How Pepr works.
The first move on Pepr is a real date. Here's what that means — what you can do today, and how dating works once your community opens.
Part one: what you can do today
Pepr opens one city at a time. Every community starts by forming: people register and build profiles first, so the day the community opens there are real members to meet. While your city is forming you can:
- Choose your community — the city you'd actually date in.
- Register with Google, Apple or your email.
- Create your profile — photos, a few words, what you're looking for.
- Have it reviewed. A person checks every photo before it's shown to anyone.
- Be ready. Registered members hear first when the community opens.
Nobody can browse, make offers or message while a community is forming. There's no set opening date.
Part two: how dating will work
When your community opens:
- Discover. See reviewed profiles of members in your city.
- Offer. A man opens with a first-date offer: a specific plan and a real amount, to one woman.
- Decide. She accepts, counters with a different amount, or passes. No obligation either way.
- Talk. Once an offer is accepted, he can unlock a conversation with Pepr Credits, and the two of you plan the details.
- Meet. You arrange the date yourselves, if you both still want to.
That's the whole model: a clear, specific first move, and a clear, specific answer. No endless matching, no chats that go nowhere.
Pepr Credits and first-date offers are separate
Pepr sells Credits. They're the app's own virtual currency, bought by men and spent on app features — today, that means unlocking a conversation after an offer is accepted. Women never pay for anything.
Pepr never handles money between members. A first-date offer is something one member proposes to another. Pepr shows the offer and the answer; it does not process, hold, transfer, guarantee or get involved in anything two adults agree about a date. Whatever that is happens between them, outside the app.
An offer is an invitation to a date — not a payment for anything else, and not a promise of income. TheTerms of Service say this precisely; theDating Safely guide says how to keep it that way.
Questions
- Is Pepr free?
- Creating an account and a profile is free, and women never pay for anything. Once a community opens, men buy Pepr Credits to unlock a conversation after an offer is accepted. There's no subscription.
- What's the difference between Credits and a first-date offer?
- Credits are what you buy from Pepr to use the app's features — today, that's unlocking a conversation. A first-date offer is the plan and amount one member proposes to another for a date. Pepr sells Credits; it never touches, holds or guarantees anything two members agree about a date.
- Does Pepr pay anyone to go on dates?
- No. Pepr isn't an employer and no one is paid by Pepr. What two adults agree between themselves about a date is theirs alone and happens outside the app.
- Can I use Pepr right now?
- You can register, choose your community and build your profile. Browsing, offers and messaging start when your community opens; registered members hear first.
- When does my city open?
- There's no fixed date. A community opens when enough reviewed profiles are in place for the first day to be worth everyone's time. Registering now is how you make that sooner.
- Is Pepr like What's Your Price?
- The first-date-offer model is the same idea. Pepr is a newer, mobile-web take on it, organised by city community and free for women. The comparison page sets the two side by side.
- Do I have to accept an offer?
- Never. Every offer can be accepted, countered or passed, and passing costs nothing. Nothing in Pepr obliges anyone to meet.
