What is Pepr?

Pepr is a dating app where the first move is a real date. Instead of swiping and small talk, a man opens with a first-date offer — a specific plan with a real amount attached — and the woman decides: accept, counter, or pass. Chat opens once a date is agreed, so every conversation starts with something to look forward to.

Pepr never handles money between members. Credits buy features in the app; what two people agree about a date is theirs alone.

Boston is forming

Registration is open. You can create your account, choose Boston as your community, build your profile and have it reviewed — everything that needs to be in place before the community opens.

Dating has not started. Nobody is browsing profiles, making offers or messaging yet; those arrive together when the community opens, and you'll hear from us when it does. There is no set opening date.

How it will work once the community opens

Discover. See reviewed profiles of members in Boston.
Offer. He proposes a first date and an amount.
Decide. She accepts, counters, or passes — no obligation either way.
Talk. An accepted offer can open a conversation using Pepr Credits.
Meet. The two of you arrange the date yourselves, if you both want to.

Dating in Greater Boston

Boston dates well on foot. A first-date offer here can be as specific as oysters in the Seaport, a table in the South End, a walk along the Charles before dinner in Harvard Square, or the North End when you both want pasta and no decisions. The T makes most of the inner city a short trip; a date that crosses from Somerville to Jamaica Plain on a weeknight is a real ask, and a thoughtful offer accounts for it.

Members in the Boston community can live anywhere in Greater Boston — the city, Cambridge and Somerville, Brookline and Newton, or the towns along the commuter rail. You choose your area when you build your profile; Pepr never shows your address, your workplace or exactly where you live.

Safety and expectations

Every date is arranged between two adults who decide for themselves. Pepr reviews every photo before it's shown, hides your email and date of birth, and lets you block or report anyone at any time — but it doesn't run background checks on members, and no app can guarantee who someone is. Meet in public, tell a friend, and keep your own plans for getting home.

What does forming mean?: A forming community takes registrations and profiles before dating starts, so there are real people to meet from the first day it opens. While it's forming, nobody can browse, make offers or message.
Can I register now?: Yes. Registration in Boston is open: create your account, build your profile and have it reviewed.
Can I make or receive offers now?: Not yet. Offers, browsing and messaging all start when the community opens. Until then, you can build your profile so you're ready.
What happens when the community opens?: Members with reviewed profiles can discover each other. Men make first-date offers; women accept, decline or counter. An accepted offer can unlock a conversation using Pepr Credits, and the two of you decide independently whether to meet. We'll let registered members know when that day comes — there's no fixed date.
What area does the Boston community serve?: The Boston community covers Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, Brookline and the inner suburbs inside Route 128, plus the North and South Shore towns that commute in. Your profile shows your area, not an address.
How does Pepr protect my information?: Your email and date of birth are never shown to other members — they see your age, not your birthday. Every photo is reviewed by a person before it's shown, and you can block or report anyone at any time. Pepr never handles money between members and never shares your profile outside the app.
